Journey in Finding My Niche
One Door Closed, Another One Will OPEN
Two months ago I was let go from a marketing/graphic design position I've held for over eight years. I loved that company, the owners were fantastic, the people were great, very talented. I was planning on retiring here. So I thought.
My intuition is very strong, I knew this was coming, I felt it through every bone in my body. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that when one door closes, the universe will open another door soon after.
A Little About Me
Hello there! I'm Lauren, and I've been working in the
Marketing and Graphic Design field for over 20 years. I have experience in
the software industry, manufacturing, transportation, law, retail, and
business services. My skillset is well versed. I'm the "Jill of all
trades," wore many hats at every position I was employed. Everyone loved
me, because not only did I do my job, but I also helped guide others through theirs.
I'll get more into my job experience in another post later.
What
does the future hold?
The whole purpose of this blog is to find my niche,
what I truly want to do with the rest of my life. I have a few ideas in mind,
but I'm not sure how to go about doing them just yet.
I've had a dream since graduating college to open my own
business in providing Graphic Design Servies, hence the LMC Graphics blog domain. However, throughout the
years, I've gained a lot of experience in Marketing as well, so I've thought
about combining the two to develop LMC Marketing & Design ~ Designing Tomorrow,
Today. I've thought about freelancing to get me started in this business,
but of course, because I don't have experience in freelancing, I'm not sure how
to start.
About
this Blog
I'll be sharing my journey of self-discovery and figuring out my future career path. You'll find my thoughts on my career search experiences, tips and tricks for using Microsoft 365 apps, and examples of work I've done in the past. I'll also showcase some of the random images I've retouched or created just for fun—got to keep those skills sharp!
Good day!
Lauren
